John Cena has recently announced his retirement from WWE.

During a surprise appearance at Money in the Bank in Toronto on July 6, John revealed that the “last time is now”.

The 16-time world champion shared, “Why am I here? Tonight, I’m officially announcing my retirement from the WWE,” as reported by Deadline.

John reflected, “This goodbye isn’t the end.”

“It’s a new chapter. Everyone, next year Raw moves to Netflix, marking a historic first. I’ve never been part of Raw on Netflix, and I’ll be there,” explained the wrestler and actor.

The star of Barbie continued, “And alongside this historic moment, we’ll create countless unforgettable memories.”

John emphasized, “The 2025 Royal Rumble will be my final one. The 2025 Elimination Chamber will be my last.”

“And tonight, here in Las Vegas, I announce that WrestleMania 2025 will be my final WrestleMania,” John added.

Addressing his fans in attendance, John said, “Thank you all so much for letting me perform in the house that you built over these many years.”

“Thank you for your powerful voices and your honest, sometimes brutally honest, feedback,” he remarked.

John concluded, “And above all, thank you for allowing me to share this moment with you tonight, as we plan something unforgettable—including my return to Toronto!”

For those unfamiliar, John reportedly signed with WWE in 2001 and later transitioned to Hollywood, delivering notable performances in films like Daddy’s Home, Suicide Squad, Fast X, Freelance, and others.
